What's the best sling to breastfeed in??

Really wanting to BF DC2 (due in 3 wks), but worried will be difficult to find time to sit still long enough at home while looking after very active 2.5yr old DD.
BF counsellor today advised getting a sling, so that once BF established (hopefully), should be able to do hands free whilst doing regular things at home (sounds a long shot, but hey ho!!).
Anyway, there's such a huge range to choose from, wondering if anyone has experience of them, & which would you recommend???
TIA xx

A ring sling, or stretchy wraparound I'd say. I've never managed to do it easily though (have 4 DCs). My last three babies have thrived on frequent snacks, rather than mammoth feeds

I had an Ellaroo ring sling, and could easily walk aroung whilst breastfeeding.

If you can, buy a couple of different ones second hand (try the Yahoo UkBabywearingswap group) then you can sell the ones you don't like on for much the same as you paid for them

Of the several I have, the best for feeding is my Cardin Bleu fleece wrap sling - it is very liberating being able to feed handsfree whilst walking round a shopping centre!

Thanks for all your tips. Will do a bit more research before purchasing. Any more??

Hi Casper, I just went to my local haberdasher, bought 4.5m of white 2 way jersey stretch (£15) and cut it into 3 20in-wide strips. Easy to wash, and I splashed out an extra £10 on some nice Dylon dye and dyed them all pretty colours. If I don't get on with babywearing they'll make nice gifts for friends!

(it saves time if you mark a middle point on each wrap too)

I would say a ring sling as wellthis site has some great ones that aren't that expensive.
I liked the ring sling as it is easily adjustable until you are comfy, and if you have to move position (ie stand up, sit down) it is easier with an adjustable sling IMHO.

I'm another wraparound (woven not stretchy) fan. They're just so versatile as far as different carrying positions go. We've had our Didymos for nearly 3 years now and DH will still carry DS (2y10m) on his back if we're going for long walks or anything. Lots of memories of DS all snuggled up asleep while I was vacuuming the house - and v discreet for feeding. I've actually just washed it to get it ready for the next one!
