It is starting to get difficult. She is currently feeding for hours at a time. I shouldnt complain as she pretty much sleeps through the night from 10 ish to 6ish then goes back until about 9am.

But then she has been feeding pretty much all day. Luckily I'm not in pain but its difficult to manage and not sure how I can continue doing this - I have a 2 year old and am beginning to want to have abit of a life outside the home.

Lots of babies want to feed a lot and very often. She is still very little. Is she gaining weight, having lots of wet and dirty nappies?

It does get better, in the meantime, perhaps try a sling so that she can be close to you while you get on with things. I found with dd2 that she hated being put down and wanted to feed lots, but if carried in a sling close to me she was happy and didn't demand feeds quite so often.

Forgot to say, I know it's really hard, especially with an older sibling and you do go stir crazy. Try to focus on the fact that it won't last forever.

My dd went through a phase of this while I was bf her, the midwife told me it was natures way of increasing my breast milk as the baby got bigger. The more she fed the more I made until eventually there was a sufficient supply so she didn't need to be feeding so often. And she was right! HTH [smile}

Thanks for the posts. Hope you're right TFM I lve in hope!

Will try the sling idea maybe she just needs to be held sometimes. Sadly DH wont do she goes mad if left with him atm. Managed to have a bath today but poor man ended up standing outside the bathroom jiggling her while she screamed.

Or you could try swaddling her in a t-shirt you have been wearing. This also worked for my dd, she was comforted by the smell of me.

I have every sympathy with you, I can soooo remember what it was like
