My 4 week old takes between 1hr to 1.5hr to breastfeed every 2 hours (when will it get easier???) so need a good sling so I can keep moving and living my life when we're out.

Thanks x

Your first? Will get easier v. soon. Just take your time and spend it with him/her. Everything else will wait!!!

Not sure about slings was thinking about this the other day for if i ever have another!!

so no advice! so really just bumping for you!

Never breast fed as am a nanny not a mummy; but a lot of the parents I work for swear by ring slings which most buy from freedom slings via ebay.

I use them as carriers and think they are brilliant!

Congrats on your baby and good luck with the feeding x

You are doing so so well with the BF! My 10 week old was exactly the same and it does get easier I promise. My friend (who is a BF counsellor, swears by the 'betterbaby' sling, but personally I would advise you to just try to enjoy the closeness and snuggle down with your little one. I know it is hard, but it does get better and time when they are small goes so quickly! Good luck!

I swear by a wrap as the answer to anything. I used to feed Tink in one walking down the road.

Hang in there it does get easier!

I would go for a Maya lightly padded ring sling but that's just me. Have a look on the forums of www.thebabywearer.com and see what others recommend based on your body shape. On that site there are also links to UK stockists.

A coorie is the best I've found from Brightsparkslings.co.uk.

I would not be without it for bf'ing especially for a newborn. They sent me a 10% off code for friends to use if you'd like it.
It says to enter BC3 at the checkout.

i fed in my ring sling when ds was little - regularly fed while walking up the road, in b&q etc.....! plus lying down feeding is fab so you can sleep at the same time....

also you might investigate compression feeding as that speeds up your flow - links somewhere on mn if you search. or have someone look at your latch as it may be that your littlun isn't in the most efficient position which might speed everything up for you

I have a fleece Cardin Bleu sling (a wrap one) which has been fab for feeding on the go - the freedom is amazing!

I have a freedom padded ring sling. Actually I really must get organised and sell it on e-bay.
I did the school run with ds2 breastfeeding.
I only managed to use it twice. Gutted. Found it very easy. had a diabetic hypo and fell down the stairs, hurting my shoulder. Thus why only used it twice and no longer needed, thus need to sell.
Difficult to tell you whether you would like it or not -consensus on MN is that a bit like marmite, you will either love freedom slings or hate it.

I used a padded freedom ring sling too. LOVED it - didn't use my buggy at all for 6 months and I was able to breastfeed dd in all sorts of places I wouldnt have dreamt of feeding ds - on the bus, in the queue in argos etc.
