I am really worried ai am going to get engorged or something, my boobs already feel really full which they havent for months.
Seh has a really bad fever at teh moment, is taking all drugs I can to keep it below 38, so ma happy for her to feed but she didnt stop from 4am this morning until half 7 and then every hour and a half she has had anohter 10-15 mins.
When she is better and back on 3 a day what can I do to minimise or will it be ok as my supply had 'stablilised'?

I still bf DD occasionally. I too noticed that when she was poorly she would take more milk rather than food. She has only really started to eat what I consider decent portions recently which seems to be in line with only sporadic bfing.

Sorry, DD is 20 months.

DS was v sick with a tummy bug last year just before his 2nd bday. He couldn't keep any food down except bm so that's all he ate for 3 days and he came through it fine. You know she is getting easy to digest nourishment from your milk and it is keeping her hydrated so it's really the best thing for her when she is sick. Don't worry - your boobs will go back to normal when it settles down although it may take her a while to go back to 3 feeds after feeling poorly - the gradual cut down will prob be a bit more comfortable for you anyway! Hope she feels better soon - you're doing a great job. xo

Thanks. I dont know anyone in rl who fed this long so i have no-one to ask. hv and gp are supportive but clueless as stopped feeding at 6-12 months which doesnt help, I tend to tell them things!

Don't worry about her not eating, the feeding will keep her going. DD didn't eat for about a week last month due to a tummy bug and she was fine. She fed about hourly, sometimes more. A lot of it will probably be comfort feeding as she's feeling grotty. She'll cut down herself gradually once she starts feeling better. I didn't get engorged or feel full when DD cut down again. Hope she's better soon! smile]

My DD had a bout of flu just before christmas and she'd feed like a newborn - hourly and didn;t have much food. Think it's normal - human bodies are amazing at knowing what it needs. I had flu over christmas too and ate very little ... some days went without food at all, but drank loads.

dammit, still in super secret agent mode
I am a regular really, was chirpy girl, but thanks puzzle!

is very reassuring to hear your stories. dd1 went off bm at 13 months when i got pregnant so no real experience, altho dd2 is soooooo much easier to look after. The house is littered with dd1's unfinished snacks and drinks!
