Born Free glass bottles - can you use them without the venting system? And do supermarket teats fit this?

I've just bought Born Free glass bottles online - after I'd bought them it appears that they have a venting system gadgety widgety gizmo (like Dr Brown's bottles) which fits inside.

It looks like a lot of fuss, which I really don't need as these are for the occasional EBM top up, and also for 18 month DS bedtime feed.

I don't have the mentality to fiddle around with little bits and bobs, so am a tad concerned that I've made a mistake (and we all know how easy it is to make expensive mistakes with babies!)

Also, can I use supermarket own-brand teats to replace the ones supplied by the manufacturer?

Are there cheaper wide neck glass bottles to use?

I was using Avent bottles before, but after being put in the dishwasher they are all scored inside, which I'm concerned about due to BPA issues - apparently Avent bottles contain high levels of this.

And they leak.

Hence glass bottle thing.

Hi if you don't use the venting system in the Dr Brown's bottles, they will leak, and I think Born Free is the new name for Dr Browns, anyway. The vents are not too much fuss, I bought one of those dishwasher baskets you can get for bottles and teats, and wash them in the dishwasher, and they only take a couple of seconds to fit together, so not that faffy really.

Oh good, I was gonna return them and just get plain ole bottles - just don't want (yet another) pricey mistake....
