Hi ladies i need the advice of someone who knows what they are talking about, no point in asking in M&S or Mothercare as everytime i have been measured there they don't feel comfy.Never wear bras when not pg or bf as am usually flat chested.
I have just measured self and I am 31 inches around my back and 37 inches round my boobs, currently wearing a 34C but its too small round the front.
Thanks in advance

Try getting those super-comfy sports-bra-looking nursing bras from Bravado.com. They actually have a size chart. Let me see if I can find it for you. I am a funny size normally and really hate "regular" bras, much prefer sports bras and I heart Bravado.

Do you think they might feel uncomfortable because you don't normally where bras?

I'd recommend taking yourself off to a specialist independent lingerie shop if you have one near you.

Your size sounds like mine, so you probably need an S+ size in the Bravado Original Nursing Bra. Possibly S++ but they do stretch a bit, I've found. look here
All their bras are so comfortable.

Thanks Jacksmama they look quite nice esp theleopard skin one lol, only thing is you can't order them direct from the website so i am going to see if I can track one down. Measured self according to their chart and am a 34c, must be mothercare bra tahts rubbish.
no lingerie shops round here

I would try a a range of sizes to see which one fits best out of 30DD/E and 32DD/E. Of course, different bras fit differently in the same size so you should always fit to the bra and not the size.

The whole "add X amount of inches" is crap as then you end up with a band that is far too loose to be supportive. You should wear the band size in the no. of inches you measure (you would size up or down to 30 or 32, not sure which would fit best, try them). The cup size is the difference between the two measurements, so if you fitted best in a 30, there would be 6 inches of difference (1=AA, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D, 5=DD, 6=E, or thereabouts)

Try to visit a bravissimo, or rigby and peller if you have one nearby.

they sell those bravado bras in blooming marvellous shops if that's any help? i was a 34D before pregnancy and found the S++ to be just right. They're more crop-top like so they're great for the first couple of weeks post-birth when your boobs might change size a lot. they also do a vest top called something like "essential tank" which is absolutely brilliant.

TaurielTest · 11/01/2009 20:22

PS i bought mine online from here:
www.fromheretomaternity.co.uk/item--Bravado-Essential-Nursing-Bra-Tank-Top-a-Nursing-Top-with-Built- in-bra-by-Bravado--Bravado+Essential+Nursing+Tank.html. I wore mine all summer as a vest top, and now I wear it all winter underneath other layers to keep my midriff warm when feeding. Can you tell I'm a bit evangelical about them?

Jacksmama · 11/01/2009 22:05

they are lovely aren't they
i heart bravado

I also found the bravado ones really useful, especially in the early days when boobs went up and down in size every few hours!
