Prem baby (36 +4) how much should he be feeding?

I had a baby boy on the 29th of Dec weighing 6lb 15oz by emergency section.
He developed grunting and low blood sugars and low temp and was taken to special care for 48 hours.
Thankfully everything is fine now and we are home but he is so sleepy (would sleep all day if given the chance-only waking occasionally for a feed)and he keeps falling asleep on the bottle and isn't taking as much formula as the midwife recommended.
He has about 2 ounces then thats it.
I'm not usually a worrier regarding feeding guidelines but his weight has dropped to 6lb 2oz and his his interest in feeds is concerning me a little.
He is 1 week old today.
We have tried doing his nappy prior to the bottle to wake him up and feed him facing us rather than cuddled up.
When he is awake he is very alert and seems to take everything in.
Any tips or guidelines will be fantastic.
Thankyou.

congratulations on your new baby

my dd was born at 35+5 weeks and was very similar - just so sleepy, basically until she almost seemed to reach her full term age, iyswim - not much interest in feeding.

I've no tips, am afraid, it's really worrying, isn't it? have you spoken to the mw to explain your concerns?

Congratulations! Talk to your midwife and try to offer milk little and often. DS was born at 36 weeks and was as you describe although he didn't really have any alert time. I don't want to panic you but at two weeks he developed hypothermia which was largely due to dehydration. I was breastfeeding and topping up with formula.
Trust your instincts - if you are concerned then keep talking to your midwife or GP.
You may be sceptical but we took DS to a cranial osteopath (after he had recovered from hospital) and that seemed to have a dramatic effect on his feeding.

Thanks for replying dinny, tbh my mw is not much cop.She sent one of her replacemnets the other day and i got more advice from her in one visit than i have in my own in the last three visits. She basically said that ds will feed what he wants and that as long as his weight doesn't keep dropping he will be fine.I personally think he is doing incredibly well with his feeds and when he is awake as he was when the replacement mw visited she said he was very alert for a prem even more alert than a lot of the full term babies are and that he is taking what he needs at the moment and is sure will pick up with his feeds when he is ready.
