Dd (8 months) and on only 3 feeds a day. She is getting increasingly fussy on the breast but when I go out and she has a bottle she wolfs it down (7-8oz - which used to be unheard of for my little 2nd centile girl).

I hoped to keep it up for the whole year and then go straight to cows milk from cups (to avoid that whole bottle/sterilising thing every day). I'm also a lttle sad that I'm not needed so much an more.

AND my boobs are almost back to normal and quite happily fit into my old 34A bras.

have you tried cutting out the bottles and just offering breast?

My dd1 got more fussy/disinterested from around that age, but would still readily accept early morning and bedtime feeds. Perhaps you might find it easier to drop any middle of the day feeds if she is getting fussy? Some babies just find life beyond the boob more interesting, e.g. if you are out and about. However in the boringness of your own home, the boob seems more attractive to them.

My boobs went "back to normal" when both dds were around 6 months. It doesn't mean you aren't producing plenty, just that supply has settled down.

That sounds about right!! How I miss the days of just shoving her up my jumper for half an hour.

She only has a bottle once a week at the most but really seems to love it

My dd2 took to a bottle easily, dd1 wouldn't ever entertain the idea.

I loved the easiness of bf, which was my experience of it.

Incidentally dd1 gave up all milk at 11 months. dd2 is 16 months and still has boob in the night/early mornings. Cup of water in the day, and 6oz of cows' milk at night. She is quite flexible, unlike her big sis.

Both DS1 and DS2 had fussy stages at around this age too, I wouldn't worry too much.
I'd keep offering her the breast and wouldn't take offence is she seems a bit distracted, b-feeding is much easier than formula at this stage.
Agree that just because your boobs feel back to normal it doesn't mean you have less milk or any probs with supply.

Thanks, I will persevere as it is really easy now and I'm a bit scared of the faff of bottles all of the time.
