My 6 wk old is struggling with wind, but he doesn't bring it up very well. He grunts, goes bright red and brings his knees up. He does really loud and long farts! They are like a mans !! Tried winding in all sorts of positions, and sometimes he does burp. It's very amusing for us, but was wondering if I should leave him to it, or try giving him some infacol ?

del - not sure what the problem is here Clearly, you cannot take him to tea at Buckingham Palace for fear of offending the queen, but as that's not on your agenda, then the fact he is getting his wind out one way quite successfully is reassuring! Grunting and going red and squirming a bit does not mean he is in pain.

Hi,

INFACOL ALL THE WAY if you think hes in pain. I have a 2.5 week old and shes struggling with wind too. It was very painful at first for her and was making her miserable so we put her on infacol and shes been on it ever since. Now her wind isnt painful but she can fart and burp for england too. However we took her off it for 2 days and she was back wriggling in agony so shes back on it and the HV has told us to keep her on it for the moment. Its great stuff! Im reluctant to give her any medicine but now i've voiced it to friends, loads of them say "oh yeh, mine was on that"....!
