DD lay asleep on my lap before, head cradled in the pillow of my breast with a tummy full of warm milk. Her face was so peaceful and still with a happy flush across her cheeks. Her little hand rested possessively on my breast. I drank in her beauty and her clean baby smell. Then I reluctantly lay her in her cot and came downstairs. It's the same every night, but tonight I just reflected and enjoyed my beautiful little girl, lying still as she does so rarely. It was lovely Sorry for the soppiness!

Ah, I'm so glad things are getting better! So happy for you

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 21:28

Thanks wmmc She is so much better now, and eating like a horse to make up for the days she missed out. She stands in the kitchen shaking the cupboard shouting, 'Food!' all day long. I don't know where she's putting it all! Still teething like crazy but we both managing it better now she's not ill too. I must remember to pick up some anbesol stuff to put on her gums, that helped a bit when she was last teething.

Gorgeous!
Yes, it really is the best.

Hurrah, Hurrah!

DS has been teething and growing We had three days of continuous feeding followed by a loud snap at 2am as his bodysuit simply exploded under the pressure of trying to enclose his fat bum!!!!

He's now five months and in 9-12 month clothes.

He's currently doing his 'jesus christ superstar' repose arms out, spark out on the sofa next to me. DH is dribbling and snoring in the other chair and DD is past out with Macca Pacca's ear in her mouth.

And I have chocolate

Ah life is good!

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 22:24

Are you still tandem feeding? lol at his bodysuit exploding, that's some growth spurt! Must have been hard on you though, I remember those days. Glad they're all asleep so you can get a bit of rest. I'm just finishing a bit of ironing and then I've got a cream cake to look forward to. From Greggs Enjoy your chocolate

What a lovely picture you pain OP.

This being mumsnet, I was kind of expecting it to end with an explosive bowel movement or something equally undignified to break the mood, but was pleasantly surprised that the baby went safely and happily (and cleanly ;)) to sleep.

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 22:47

skidoodle. No luckily it ended nicely and she's been asleep since, which makes a change!

Ahhhh, well done you! Makes it all seem worthwhile eh?

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 22:55

It does indeed It's got us through many a rough patch recently so it's nice to just sit down and enjoy it.

What a lovely thought. I remember, when DD1 was about 3 months old, having exactly the same thought. I had had a lot of problems establishing bfing but had got there eventually. I was lying in bed on a cold sunny winter's morning, DD was feeding comfortably, DH was snoring and the wonderful John Peel was on the radio with Home Truths. It was a fabulous moment. God rest John Peel.

It has got better though, as we now have DD2 and DD3 .

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 23:09

Poledra, that sounds lovely.

CharChar - I am indeed and good god it's been five months - how did that happen!?

whomovedmychocolate · 13/12/2008 23:17

Actually CharChar - check out my profile pics, new pic of DS (taken tonight) on there. He's a whopper!

BabiesEverywhere · 13/12/2008 23:27

Awww, CharChar...what a beautiful picture you paint of your little one

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 13/12/2008 23:27

I am feeling extra soppy with DS2.
He is currently at the 'I'll stand up and play with a book whilst sucking on mum and saying 'dad' 'dad' 'dad' in his feeding, I know he's possibly not far from stopping and it makes me tearful
DS pushes dp's hand away if he goes near my breast. I never want to stop feeding!!

whomovedmychocolate · 13/12/2008 23:29

VS, come round, DD would like to meet you - she'll make sure you are never redundant. DD does that 'talking while nursing' thing, mostly saying 'I have booby in my mouth', which comes across as 'muwoof a mooby moooooffff'.

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 23:32

Wow he's a beautiful big boy isn't he! You got gold top in there? I'm hoping to tandem feed when I have the next one if DD's still feeding then (and I don't think she's going to be quitting any time soon). So I might be picking your brains in the future. You too BE. I've got my eye on you tandem feeders

Have you had a recent look at local?
I'll come grab her and possibly get rid of my broodiness. Am desperate for a girl new baby

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 23:37

lol at muwook a mooby moooofffff Dp likes to pretend to feed to wind DD up She yanks his head away. She likes to sleep in between us atm, cries until I swap her over. I just think she doesn't want to share me. How old is DS, VS? DD's like that, always wriggling round and playing.

OP posts:
TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 13/12/2008 23:38

DS is almost 8 months. DP will grab my breast and wink at DS and DS growls and practically runs then pushes Dp away.

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 23:39

or muwoof, even.

CharChar - it's marvellous in terms of being able to eat continually and not gain any weight (don't lose any either though )

But yes my milk is particularly fatty apparently, when you freeze it you get a big layer of yellow cream on the top . The breastmilk lady at the milk bank was quite impressed. Must be all that chocolate!

VS - no, I should go do that.....

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 13/12/2008 23:41

I tried to lose weight for the last 6 months but nothing gave. Only noticed when the periods started last month, it started drooping off me, added 2+2, same last time,I don't lose it when feeding, what a weirdo huh?

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2008 23:42

That would be good, I've put on loads whilst bfing this time. Need to eat a bit more in moderation methinks! Get you and your cream I never could express, after ages I'd just have about 0.5oz. Gave up in the end as I couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

VS maybe he's just having a bit of a distractible phase now. DD goes through little phases like that but soon comes back round again. How much does he bf?

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 13/12/2008 23:43

I didn't lose any till DD was 10 months old last time so I'm just wondering if it'll be the same for me VS. However I did then get pregnant IMMEDIATELY once I lost all the weight . Which reminds me...scissors.....coooeeeee, DH, about that vasectomy......
