Hipp Organic Milk - New Scoop Size confusion!!

ljw30 · 13/12/2008 20:52

Hi there,
Does anyone know if the Hipp Organic scoops for their stage 1 milk has increased or decreased recently. There is a message on the box saying that the mix of the milk has changed and to use the new scoop, but my husband had already put the new scoop into the new box of milk with out reading this and now i do not know which scoop I should be using. Does any have any idea?
Thanks

you should use hte one that came with that box of milk.
using the wrong one will mean that the milk will not be prepared correctly and could be dangerous

I know, but the scoops have got muddled so do not know which is correct.

Are they the same colour?

What is the scoop size on the packaging?

Often where the amounts are it tells you the scoop volume ie 4.5g.

ljw30 · 13/12/2008 22:11

They are exacctly the same apart from the size. It does say on the box about the scoop volume but I do not have any scales that weigh that little.

do you have an old box lying around? that way y0ou'll know it if has gone up or down

I have been using hipp up untill 2 weeks ago and i know the scoops then were a lot deeper ( then other formula scoops)

Best thing to do is everytime you buy a box use the new scoop and throw old one away

They have changed the milk powder so that you dont need so much. Use the smaller one.

Yes, the new scoop is much shallower than the old one. My husband opened this new box and kept the old scoop - it is only when I was throwing the box away that I say the new scoop and warning. We have been using too much formula for the last week or so - how serious is that for baby do you think???

pudding25 · 17/12/2008 09:55

I really don't think you need to panic! The baby might have had a bit of extra milk powder but just start using the new scoop. I imagine it would only be a problem in the long term as you would be overfeeding the baby.

I think we did the same Tracey - Dp never uses the new scoop so for a few days we were using the old. Dd is fine and didnt seem to notice and no other effects.
