Hi. does anyone know if there is anything I could be eating thats causing my DD2 to have such a lot of very stinky wind??? She is really struggling and its making feed times very frustrating as she wriggles a lot and it also keeps waking her up (but only during the day..thankfully not so bad at night!). Any thoughts would be much appreciated. thanks.

From what I've read on here, it is very unlikely, except in very rare cases, for diet to effect breast milk. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

I could have written your post! DS2 is 6 wks and very windy and sicky too. He frequently seems uncomfortable after a feed and does lots of burps and farts.

Unlike yours though, he seems worse at night. He feeds at about 3 am and goes back down but normally wakes again by 4.30 - 5 ish, not hungry but thrashing around and is clearly uncomfortable.

Haven't found a solution yet though, sorry

I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination. but..

What are her nappies like? If they are normal yellow mustardy colour then it may just be wind and try infacol. If they are green she may not be getting enough hind milk and may need to feed for longer from each breast. My DD had stinky wind and green nappies when I was feeding her and changing sides everytime she came off.

Also is she gulping when she feeds - this may be the cause of wind and the only suggestion then is long frequent winding.

HTH

hi - nappies are normal mustard yellow and infacol doesn't seem to be doing much (have been using it for a few weeks now). She does gulp a bit and doesn't seem able to cope with the let-down and comes off everytime. I didn't think it would be my diet but thought I would check incase I was missing something! I have taken her to an Osteo for one session and think I will be taking her back in the hope that that does something!! Thanks!

My boy is similar and we're trying infacol and lots of winding techniques...some days i'm sure the medicine and various winding is working, other days it feels very hit and miss. if i get to a solution i'll let you know!

try putting her down on her tummy as much as poss, as this will help to break up the wind and pass in smaller amounts,

you could start trying baby massage as this helped my DS and his very bad trapped wind.

my ds was the same have to say i tried it all somedays it worked others it didnt he's three months now and it seems as though he's just grown out of it sorry no words of wisdom

Hi I am in the same position with my 4week old DS. Tried infacol but he still very windy and fed up after feeds, makes me feel awful and responsible. He also struggles with my fast flow. He rarely sleeps more than 2 hours at night and keeps being sick and choking. Hope things improve for us both

same thing here with my 5 week old dd2, check www.kellymom.com for some tips on dealing with fast flow
