Breastfeeding my 9 wk old has turned into an ordeal because he yells at every feed because(I think) my milk reflex is too quick/plentiful. He feeds about thirty secs then comes off coughing, then crying and seems to swallow lots of air. Cue crying and colic-style behaviour at every feed. Anyone got experience of this? does it get better with age, or are there techniques to help him? any ideas gratefully received.

It does get better with age, but what you can do is express for a few minutes before feeding to take off the excess (don't worry it won't lead to oversupply because your ds will need more milk shortly.

Another suggestion I've seen is to take him off just after your let-down starts and let your boob leak into a cloth for a minute or so two that it isn't as forceful when you put him back on again. Or I think you can hold your boob "like a cigar" - think that was for let-down anyway.
