Tommee Tippee First Cup, does it have a valve?

Ds4 is teething at the moment and not very happy with bottles in nursery. Does anyone have these cups? I am looking for one without a non-spill valve which is also good for travel.

Do you mean the small beakers with two handles?

No they dont ahve valves in but they spill everywhere!

We switched to avent magic cups which ar egreat but they have valves.

They come with an alternative lid in which the spout folds down for travel.
We got one free at our 'weaning talk' with the HV! They're pretty cheap I think though.

should beakers not have valves then?
trying to find a cup DS likes. SIL insists he's better with an 'any way up cup' at hers, i use Tommee Tippee and Avent Magic cups

The valves stop the contents spilling, but don't teach them about drinking from a proper cup.
The strange HV who did our weaning talk said that many parents are happy for their LOs to have a no-spill cup full with them all the time, so the LO fills up on drink during the day, then wakes with hunger in the night. She is also obsessed with cutting down on milk and made my SIL feel like shit about DN not putting any weight on, but I think she may have a point as far as the cup is concerned. And she did give me a free cup.

Just can't see him sucking at a spout if he's refusing to suck on a bottle! We can take the valve out the avent cup for home but theres no way to seal them for travel, then.

valves make them suck harder and can be bad for the teeth. I used the tommee tippee first cup for water and the avent magic cup for milk as it was less messy. Now ds is older he gets milk in the first cup too. It is versatile as you can use it as an open cup when they are learning to drink from a proper cup. I never had a problem with it spilling as long as you keep the spout down and keep it upright. You could also put it in a freezer bag just in case.
