Has anyone used Sage Leaf to cut down milk supply?

DS is 14 months and has been exclusively b/f. He's been dropping feeds for a while and I've been encouraging him as I'm ready to stop bf too.

I've suffered from blocked ducts and once from masitis in the past and so I'm trying not to have any of those problems as we stop bf. So I read on the Kellymom website that sage leaf (either tea or capsules) can help reduce milk supply and I was wondering if anyone has tried this at all, it it works and if so how long it takes for your milk supply to reduce?

TIA

I know someone who used the motherlove sage tincture to completel;y dry up the supply when they finished feeding. They thought it was great. Also, her husband used it when she had finished with it - to stop him sweating! - he said it made his job more pleasurable!!

www.howtodothings.com/family-and-relationships/a1711-how-to-dry-up-breast-milk-supply.html

saw the site above - don't know how useful it will be to you.

I have heard of the following tips but i havn't tried them myself yet ( will be soon tho) so i am not sure how effective they are - i have also heard about sage tea.

they run as follows -

apparently shower water can stimulate production and obviously avoid nipple stimulation.

gel/cold packs for relief of pressure

Keep fresh green cabbage leaves over your breasts. This would gradually help dry up the breast milk supply. Place these leaves for some days and replace when they droop

To deal with the transitory pain and discomfort, you can take pain relievers.

Drink water as often as you can, since it helps dry up the breast milk supply pretty
fast

Thanks Ema76 - I'll try the cabbage leaves too. But it's strange about drinking more water, I'd have thought that would increase your milk supply

Willing to try anything though
