...is it a no-no?

I've eaten it a few times not thinking - I do have asthma (wasn't totally strict on avoiding peanuts in pregnancy though, after reading that contries where the most nuts are eaten have the lowest allergies).

Anyway, do people generally avoid peanuts when b/feeding?

nope#

there is so much conflicting evidence - as far as I have been able to find, the only thing with a definitive link to peanut allergy later in life is using creams containing nut oil on raw skin (so eczema, nappy rash etc)

if you ate them when pg there is no need to stop now

Some people do. I never have (as Mrs Badger says, there's no evidence linking it to any problems).

The advice used to be to avoid peanuts when preg or b/f if there was any history of any allergies/ asthema in the family. The advice changed (I think) about a year or two ago as it was found that there was no evidence of allegy rates reducing, in fact the rate increased, so peanuts can be eaten.

And I missed out on years of Snickers following the advice
