and yet

DD is 2.2 and I am gently encouraging a different bedtime routine. She is still BFing. She BF to sleep for ages, got her into fairly regular BF then in cot awake but goes a bit mad when DH trys to put her to bed.

So I introduced a book in her room for the first time last Monday. Did everything else the same but left a book so she could see it. Everynight she has asked for the book then "mummy milk". Tonight she made me read the book 3 times then said she did not want "mummy milk" but after 2 minutes of trying to persuade me she should go downstairs to watch a Peppa Pig she decided to cuddle me and fell asleep

Just wanted to share

Ahh DD has done that a few times (2.1). Sadly it doesn't last for us and the next night she remembers

I'm torn too, I'd love her to wean naturally but it's also a bind that I have to put her to bed every night when I have another baby to look after.

Bahh!

Thanks WMMC - I was sure it was the start of a new age But then I know that these changes take a while.

I love the idea of weaning naturally but DH is getting upset that she is still so dependent on me. He has been so supportive of BFing and still never says anything negative but I know that if he could do bedtime once in a while he would feel better.

How is LO?

Still puking and pooing all over the place and she also has some more teeth (more, WTF she has over 20 already!) coming through.

Know what you mean about DHs and dependency. Mine is massively supportive because I am also feeding DS but I know he finds it frustrating that whenever she's upset it's me she shouts for and is quite fierce with him if he deigns to turn up instead.

When I was in hospital for a month having DS, DH put her to bed without me every night so it is possible. But TBH I'm happy to do it most of the time, it's just when he can't be here and I have two of them to cope with and DS always seems to be awake when I'm trying to get DD to go to sleep!
