my baby is a windy little one - what food/drink ought I to avoid? I don't drink fizzy drinks anyway - am gonna cut out caffeine, anything else in particular?

anything I should eat/drink to help? have been old garlic is good and fennel tea but i hate fennel tea!

No compelling evidence to suggest it will make any difference.
Eat and drink what makes you& happy.

your baby is fed by your blood, not a direct line from your stomach. i dont think it matters what you eat tbh.
enjoy!

GWTMH - if you are going to add/extract things from your diet (and I tend to think with moondog that it's prob not worth it unless you have a strong suspicion towards something) then you have to be pretty systematic about it - take out/add one thing only at a time, and leave it a week or so. No good cutting a swathe through your diet, 'cos if the baby improves you'll never know what worked! And the baby could have got better anyway

Caffeine was my babies pet-hate! It definitely made a difference for us. Because when I tried it again a bit later, it still sent them mad!!

well i know certain things definately made a difference to lo.

ds was upset by

eggs
whole milk
sauces using tomatoo puree/tinned tomatoes
windy veg. i.e brussel srpouts

he would go off his feeds is i'd had garlic or onions.

would be on there all day if i'd had lots of smoothies or chocolate.

and i used to drink up to 5 cups of fennel tea so i could eat anything i fancied to combat wind. but chamomile while also has same effect but not just as well.

good thing is about chamomile you can add sugar or honey. and even get the ones with vanilla and chamomile

I cut out caffeine for a couple of days and it made no difference at all. Then I cut out dairy (except a dash of milk in tea) and the difference has been amazing - DD went from refusing to sleep on her back and waking every half hour or so through the night to sleeping for 4-6 hours at a time. It may just be coincidence but I'm too nervous to drink milk again just in case!
