Hasn't fed since 3:30am today and I am beginning to feel quite full. We got this far and I never had to express anything, I don't want to spend £30 or more on a pump I'll use for only a few days, but I'm feeling slightly panicky what happens if he doesn't latch on properly soon. (And I can't hand express, would if I could!)

I don't even know where I could buy a pump locally, if I wait until after 5pm (and maybe before that time, too), I might have to drive around for hours to find somewhere selling one if I don't go buy it now.

This is my 4th baby but first big nursing strike, what a pain! He is crying loads but then has happy spells inbetween, which makes me think it's teeth not illness. Not drinking much water either.

Just blathering I guess, I dunno what to do!

I'm sure someone will be on with advice about what to do in terms of the nursing strike, but in terms of the pump I bought a Tommee Tippee closer to nature hand pump and it's available in pretty much all of the big supermarkets. I got mine for 10 pounds in Tesco as it was on offer. It's easy to put together and fine for occasional use.

HI MM, thanks for replying (boohoo, no one else did). Our local Sainsbury's doesn't even have bottles, much less a pump. 6 shops, 30 miles, 2 hours of driving and 27 quid, I now have an Advent pump (at least I know they work well). And of course he startd feeding, finally, at 1am this morning!

It's funny how it knocked my confidence, this baby keeps being so unpredictable. At least I'm prepared now.
