DS (1) feeding more than ever!

My DS has just turned one and is a boob monster! At ten months he was feeding just in the morning and at night. I didn't do anything that is just the way it happened. Recently he has started to pick up feeds all over the place including at least one in the night which is a bit annoying.

The rest don't bother me I am just a bit surprised since he had been down to two a day. Does that happen a lot? Babies suddenly feeding a lot again? His first word was boob so I am wondering if it is the novelty of being able to communicate something to me and get a result. Or perhaps it just indicates he needs some attention at that point in time. Or teeth? Anyway it's fine by me just curious!

Probably teeth. It'll pass. If you can discourage the night feeding it's a good idea - otherwise it can go on....and on....and on

Also when they start to move around a lot they need a lot more calories - are you feeding him enough solid food? Some kids need three meals plus two snacks when they get to the running stage.

He's just crawling but very active. I tend to keep offering him food until he stops eating - especially at tea time. I hope he is getting enough. I will try and offer more snacks throughout the day.

I was rid of the night feeds but then I started to give in again. I think I need to work on that!

would second wmmc's vote for teeth. ds used to turn into an all-night boob fiend when his teeth were coming through!

A cup of very cold water will help in the night if it's toothache. Not great for you of course because you have to go fetch it but I found that easier than feeding DD in her worst throes of teething. Oh and neurofen for kids at bedtime.

my dd was the same and i'd say teeth too, plus a bit of comfort.

[hijack - Hi phdlife - how you doing? Moved yet? Novel finished?]
