Anyone here had a good experience shopping at www.motherwearuk.com?

I was wondering if anyone had had a GOOD experience shopping with motherwearuk.com?
I placed an order not too long ago (on the 18th oct) - it hasn't arrived. I've not had an email saying it's been sent either.
I'm starting to feel a bit suspicious of this company at the moment though, becuase they are not answering any emails or phonecalls - I have found a number of different email addresses at the website eg info@... sian@... admin@.... believe me I've tried them all - sent priority mail, requested read receipt - NOTHING.
My order was for 2 sale items - a fleece BF top and a BF dress. - they came to £59 - so I'll be pretty upset if I don't get anything at all for my money!
Does anyone have a phone no. or way of contacting sian foster of www.motherwearuk.com that does work? The company is based in ipswich.

I am hoping that I'm getting my knickers in a twist over nothing here and that my order will turn up somehow - but I found one other comment about the company here at mumsnet - which was to avoid them - I beleive the lady in question didn't get her goods or her money back. She only spent a fiver too!

I have used them, I followed a link on here for feeding bra converters, which arrived within a week. However I did order a bra aswell, this was out of stock. I got a message saying it would be despatched when in, but I received a refund and no bra instead. So not totally bad but maybe a bit disorganised, I get the impression it is a WAHM type thing, so would give the benefit of the doubt, and keep trying to contact them.
Sorry not to be more help.

scarylittlecarrot · 30/10/2008 23:48

I had a bad experience with them.
Ordered a bra converter (in fact it was me that gave the link to the others...oops).
didn't arrive.
contacted her, arranged another...
didn't arrive
contacted again, emails ignored, contacted again etc, keeping it all very civil until eventually I suggested I was going to reluctantly leave negative ebay feedback if she didn't respond. Waited, no response, left my first negative feedback ever.

Course she retaliated with a negative and some rather nasty comments (whch ebay removed)

I received the refund or the converters. Which is a bit of a bugger because I'd love the converters and have never found anyone else who sells them.

Oh doh.

I just realised that you were talking about me in your OP.

so I'm probably not a representative sample!

I do hope you have better luck than I did. I was going to report her to trading standards but wound my neck in instead, as you say, it was only a fiver.

ticked me off though.

Good luck getting your money back.

phone number here

Didylicious · 03/11/2008 10:35

Thanks for your help "scarylittlecarrot" - that is the phone number I tried - and she is not answering - so I have left messages - and I have not been called back either.

So you didn't get a refund OR the converters?

I'm getting mighty ticked off with this situation.

I have opened a paypal dispute - NO response from her.

My husband took a job that is quite close to ipswich - where they are based - so my next step may be to ask him to call at the address to ask politely for a refund.

If that doesn't work - then I am definatly going to call the police as this is obtaining money by deception as well as involving trading standards.

I have 4 kids to think of - I don't hand out £50 for nothing - we need the goods or the money!

Okay - so maybe I spoke too soon - I just phoned AGAIN, and she did answer this time - said she thought the goods had been sent - and would likely be lost in post.

I have been offered a replacement for the lost in post dress - and a refund for the fleece.

I will keep you posted!

I really don't mind the delay - it was the lack of communication that had me most concerned!

Well, following the last post - I telephone once more, to say I'd prefer a full refund - which Sian promised to do "later today"... It's now 4.30 pm (the original phonecall being about 10.36 (to be precise!)....
I hope I do get the refund as promised.
I have a feeling I'm going to have to chase this up though.
As it will be refunded electronically through paypal - at least the refund should not go "missing in the post"!

Well, it's no real surprise to say - I still haven't had my refund. I've emailed a couple of times to try to find out why - and, again NO response!

I can see I am going to have to phone daily until there is some conclusion - or up the paypal dispute to a claim!

I can't believe the customer service is so rubbish - the website looks so professional and they have some really nice products on offer.

Sorry you're having no luck yet with this, didy.

I was very frustrated with the lack of communication from Motherwearuk.com. I thought it would be obvious that I was genuine, I even implored her to confirm the address she'd used for me, but no response. She assumed I was a fraudster (yes that's right, out to make my criminal millions a fiver at a time hawking my fraudulently obtained nursing bra clips; a criminal mastermind, that's me ) and wrote as much on my feedback.

I don't think she has a great understanding of good customer service, sadly.

Keep us posted with your progress!

Hi,

I have contacted this company numerous times since the " verbal promise of refund" on the 3rd November - and she is no longer answering the phone or answering emails to me.
I will now be pursuing this matter - not only through the paypal system, but also here:
www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp

I haven't seen any proof that she did indeed post the parcel to me in the first place.

Indeed in my initial phone call - the vendor seemed a little nervy on the phone - and said she "thought" she was up to date with sending out orders - although admitted she had been away recently.

She asked me details of the order - I mentioned one item (I had ordered 2 items) and before I had finished saying the rest - she immediately seemed to know the rest of the order mentioning the item I had not talked of yet - it seemed very suspicious to me!

She was immediately able to tell me she could not offer a replacement as there were no more of these items in stock. I initially agreed to an alternative for one item - and a partial refund - but then phoned minutes later to say actually I'd prefer a FULL refund. This was agreed to - but then has not been actioned by the company.

I have not been given the refund - as this was to be done electronically (cannot get lost in pos!), I can think of no reason at all why this has not been done!

Why would she not respond to my emails or calls?

I gather using the above legal system - that she will have to attend a court local to ME and explain herself. This in itself will no doubt cost her MORE than the money she owes me - she is doing herself and her business no favours in treating customers this way.

Well, I am so happy to say I just received a refund in full for the items I never received!
The refund came from paypal saying the matter was now resolved in the resolution center.
I don't know if it was motherwearuk.com that instigated the refund - or if it was merely that paypal decided to issue the refund themselves.
Either way, I am much relieved to have my money back!!!
