Just got my 14 week baby weighed and although she is putting on 3 ounces a week on average she is a little one and is constantly below the 2nd centile on the growth charts. The health visitor has advised that as she is alert, happy, content, pooing and weeing well, it is my diet that is affecting her not putting on as much weight as she sould. The health visitor advised that I need to basically pig out eat lots of choclates and cakes etc and have 4 meals a day! Im only petite myself and scared Im gonna get fat! Has anyone else been in this position??? Does increasing food intake help baby put weight on? hmm

That's reassuring then Blardy! I must stress, I do also eat healthy stuff, but biscuits are my ultimate indulgence....and I do indulge! I've given up chocolate and cheese (two of my favourite things) due to the dairy content and obviously don't drink alcohol so when ds is safely tucked up in bed and dd seems settled, I crack open a packet of biscuits and find it hard to stop!

Hence the nickname...

Oh TettyLouBar....pigging out on biscuits certainly hasn't had any bearing dd's sleep. It does however mean my stomach's not rumbling when I'm feeding her at 1am...3am..5am....

I wish my hv would 'advise' me to pig out on chocolate and biscuits so that I could justify it to dh! The only advice I've had from her is to try giving dd a bottle of formula.
