Which Steriliser?

Hello!
I am due in two days and found out yesterday that i should have a steriliser! I am hoping to breastfeed so didn't think that I'd need one, but I guess that I should get one just in case I have problems breastfeeding.
So now I am desperately researching the many makes and types of sterilisers and bottles on the market, and I am so confused! Can anyone recommend a steriliser? I am torn between microwave and electric, and tommee tippee and Avent. Can anyone help?
thanks!
Sx

We used the Avent microwave one and it was fantastic. Takes 6 mins. Brilliant.

I have the Avent microwave one and it is great. I went for the one that sterlised in the quickest time! I think they are all pretty good and have never heard anyone complain about theirs. My SIL had a Boots own one. Good for sterlising breast pumps too.

Good luck for 2 days time!

We have used the same Avent microwave steriliser for both dd's. It is good because you don't have to use Avent stuff with it ( we used Dr Brown bottles, due to colic ), you can store stuff in it if you travel, or just to keep bottles out of the way, and then keep it in the microwave. Our microwave is 850w and it used to take 5 mins to sterilise stuff.

Good luck with your new baby, and I hope the breastfeeding goes well.

don't buy tommee tippee one. It doesn't fit their own bottles which is weird - is designed for 6 but we were stuffed if we could work out how and only managed 5. Is reliable and easy to use but because of fit problems would say best to stick with avent.

If you plan on breastfeeding then a microwave one will do for the 'just in case'.

But if you do end up bottle feeding you may find it more convenient to have one of the electric steam sterilisers which are on a continuous cycle (over 24 hr period)so contents always sterile. So when you come to make up a bottle, you don't need to wait 5 mins for microwave. But they ain't cheap.

I have got a boots own make one so slightly cheaper than a brand one.
