Really fed up! have had 6 months of dd2 who is a sicky pukey mess again!
Was breastfeeding till 2 months exclusively, and she was sick,
combined breast and bottle (SMA Gold) till 4 1/2 months) and she was sick
and now exclusively bottle.
temperature doesnt seem to make a difference nor does time of day, and admittedly she is a little teensy bit better than she was at birth.
this came as a real shock as dd1 was never, ever sick.
just getting fed up of constant puke smell, constant changing of clothes hers and mine and mopping up of wherever she has been.
doubly bad now cos she insists on rolling over and scrabbling round on her belly which logically puts pressure on her stomach and therefore she's sick... not always immediately but i know it will come...
HV said try sma progress, but no change... and then it'll stop when she is sitting up... erm not yet it hasnt... should i change formula?? or is it a diary intolerance.... just fed up of SICK!!! HELP!!! please???

My ds did this from 3 weeks old to around 8 months.

Sometimes it drove me insane. All those lovely outfits everyone bought us and no-one ever saw them because he constantly wore a bib or they were off quicker than they went on.

He was BF so presumably no intolerance, no pain, no discomfort or distress.

The things that seem to improve it were solids and him getting up on his feet, which luckily he did quite early.

And that is what everyone told me would happen

As you are formula feeding you could try one of the thicker formulas or infant gaviscon maybe?

IlanaK - have had cranial osteopathy with both mine, our osteopath is great she siad dd2 has a tightness in her diaphragm and that might be the area which she gets trouble with when she is under the weather or under stress... dd1 is ears nose and throat!
my nieces affectionaly call dd2 camembert, cos she always smells of cheese! always seems to migrate in the little creases of her neck, only to fester till bathtime!
guess i'll just carry on washing and wearing grey!

My 10 week old twins are both sicky, and I know how annoying it is. I actually read this thread hoping for some advice, but it seems to be the same thing - It'll get better when they are older.

I know they haven't got reflux, but it is after every b/f. They have one bottle for theur last feed, and it is actually better with that. HV said that was because it is thicker than my breastmilk. But that just makes me feel as though my milk ain't good enough. Especially as dh comments on it too.

Smellymelly, lots of babies vom more on formula, I wouldn't take it personally.

It might be that they're just taking a bit too much breastmilk, and then throwing up the excess?

As long as their weight gain is good, it's really nothing to worry about - and if your twins are only getting one formula bottle a day, you're doing really well! I'm always really impressed by women who manage exclusive bf with twins, or near-exclusive!
