Help! DD2 4.5mths is on strike (or so it would seem..................)

DD2 Is refusing to feed point blank. I think she is teething as all the signs are there such as dribbling constantly, rosey cheeks, chewing fist and lots of crying which is unusual for her.She is eating solids so I'm not worried about weight, however, her fontanelle appears to be dipping in and I think she is getting degydrated
I am giving regular pain relief, cold things to bite on etc to try to soothe it. Today she has hardly fed in cluding bed time when she normally has 30-40 mins. Tonight she would not latch on at all This has been the case for almost 3 days now. I have resorted to giving water from a cup because at least she will drink a small amount of it.

help anyone? It is really serious so I think I will call NHS Direct instead of waiting for responses.

I would go straight to A&e if i was you is she responding to you? you get a gut feeling if your worried just go good luck xxx

what age is dd?

4.5mths. She is responding between crying and chewing her fist and is now asleep without having her usual bed time feed. She didn't kick up any fuss either which is unlike her as she is normally desperate for her bed feed.

Hope you've called A&E/NHS direct. Trust your instincts. Teething might be masking something else that's going on with her. Good to get her checked out ASAP.

Have just seen this... hope you have contacted NHS direct or gone to A&E - you need to get the dehydration sorted asap then sort out why she wasn't feeding.

Hi, I contacted NHS Direct and they got the Dr to phone me. She said from a dehydration POV not to worry because she has managed to take her solids without vomiting and that there are lots of fluids in food (which I know). DD has still not requested feeding and for once I am willing her to wake up during the night to be fed. If she doesn't I will take her to the Drs in the morning. Thanks for your posts. You too Jfly. The little -bugger- darling has now taken to feeding 3 times in the night and hardly at all during the day. This needs to stop I have more under eye baggage than dame vera lyn
