I have a question, probably should start a new thread, but can't be bothered, so:

In the comments at the bottom of the article that is linked to, someone says that the Breastfeeding etc (scoland) Act 2005(?) protects the rights of mothers breastfeeding in public up to the age of two (child not mother obv).

Is this correct? Does this mean that when my ds2 turns 2 next week, if I am feeding him in public, I don't have the same rights as I do now?

I'm not too hot on the Scots law, I thought it only protected until 6 months.
But, either way it is still not illegal for you to feed your DS, just not illegal for you to be harassed because of it under the breastfeeding law.

2 years better than 6 months though.

I mean if you can't give cow's milk until one, and mat leave is a year, then clearly if sucessfully BF you are going to carry on at least until 1 (generalising). Why would anyone get the hang of breastfeeding and then switch to formula at 6 months?

If English government don't feel comfy giving the right to 2 years, why not start with 1 year? Where's this 6 months business come from?
