I think it's mastitis, anyway. My left boob feels like it's on fire and there are red lines running down it. And I'm all achey and feverish and feel like shit.

I'm doing the cold compress thing and I'm taking paracetamol, but MIL keeps wanting to get the dr out. If I do let her get him out (and she's being really fab, really, really lovely - she just hates seeing me so ill as do I, for that matter) what will he do? Will he just give me anti-b's or is there something else I should be doing?

Just spoken to LLL leader - she was a bit...i dunno. I'm probably being oversensitive. But she said, "Ooh, it's very unusual to get mastitis when you're pregnant - your milk supply should be dropping." I wanted to shout I DON'T CARE! And then I felt bad for thinking that. Her telling me that I "really need to be with my little boy" wasn't overly helpful either. I have a temperature of over 39 and i am not capable of feeding myself let alone changing a nappy or making him lunch.

Right - I am going to make a hot water bottle and go off to bed. Stupid farking boobs.

(and SoH I totally sympathise with the "enthusiasm" of nursing a toddler through mastitis. Ds has this thing where he likes to knead my breast, presumably to make the milk flow faster.....i nearly hit the roof!!)

Have a good sleep UD, hope you feel better soon.

Dh has taken his laptop to work with him so i've made myself a bed on the sofa where i can use my own lop and watch LoTR and feel sorry for myself.

"your milk supply should be dropping"
Not always. I still have a reasonable milk supply at 35 weeks pregnant.

Sorry to hear about the mastitis, hope it gets better asap.
