Six-month-old recovering from diarrhoea but refusing milk, should I worry?

My 6 month old had a bout of diarrhoea yesterday (30 times in total). Took him to the hospital as I was scared for dehydration but they said he had drank plenty of formula and they weren’t concerned.

fast forward to today he’s done 6 poos so major improvement, they’re thick no longer like water, but he will not drink his milk😩 he’s had 8oz since this morning and it’s currently 5pm. I managed to get in with my GP who checked him over and said that he’s not showing any signs of dehydration and to just continue what we’re doing (offering little and often and trying to give him dioralyte through a syringe, I’ve tried formula through syringe but he’s spitting both out. He’s happy playing on the floor not unusually fussy etc. maybe a little more sleepy than usual but no temperature or anything.

i can’t stop worrying about the milk, the second I put the teat in his mouth he’s pulling away, he can’t not drink surely he will definitely get dehydrated? But I don’t know what to do as now the hospital and doctor have both said he’s ok

Also forgot to add he’s had 3 Tiny wees today, but the doctor also wasn’t concerned by that as everything else seems okay

How is he now @Rubylu?

@ExplodingSmittens he was only drinking about 10-12oz for 5 days and definitely not enough wet nappies, but he’s much better now back to drinking his normal amount and lots of wet nappies! Must just have been the upset stomach making him not want to eat, thankyou for asking
