Unsure if baby's feeding issues are CMPA or reattached tongue tie

My little one is 10 weeks old and has been on Nutramigen for a suspected cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA). We were also giving expressed breast milk, but we're now down to one bottle a day as we've gradually transitioned to formula. I've been dairy-free for around 6 weeks.

At 4 weeks, he had a posterior tongue tie divided. I was breastfeeding at the time, but concerns about milk intake and the impact on my mental health led me to switch to pumping and introduce formula.

His original symptoms were crying in pain, straining to pass stools, and congestion. His nappies looked normal, so I wasn't convinced it was constipation really. Gripe water helped briefly, but the symptoms returned, and our GP suggested CMPA, Nutramigen, and a dairy-free diet.
Since then, he's improved, but I'm unsure whether that's due to the formula/diet changes or simply getting older and his digestive system maturing.

Over the past week, he's become more unsettled during and between feeds. He sometimes throws himself backwards, makes clicking noises while feeding, and is difficult to burp.

We saw the infant feeding team today, who said his tongue tie has reattached. We weren't advised to do any stretches after the procedure, so I'm now worried that may have contributed. The feeding assistant also felt his original symptoms didn't sound like CMPA and could have been related to the tongue tie. She said I could stop being dairy-free and increase expressed breast milk, although I'd been planning to stop pumping soon as it's become difficult to maintain, especially now my partner is back working 12 hour shifts.
We're hoping to have another appointment next week to reassess the tongue tie and discuss options. In the meantime, I'm unsure whether to continue Nutramigen (will wait for now), switch formulas, or consider having the tongue tie revised. The feeding team suggested coming off Nutramigen, but I'm worried about creating more issues? I feel like I'm getting conflicting advice from different professionals.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If your baby was thought to have CMPA but it turned out to be something else, what happened? And are there any downsides to staying on a hypoallergenic formula if it's not actually needed?

Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you.
