Chronic stress VS Let down (Breastfeeding)

Without going into details, I’ve been experiencing severe chronic stress since before DD was born. She’s now 4 weeks old and my ability to ‘let down’ has decreased significantly in the last two weeks. I let down every few hours (I say that rather than once per feed, because she’s basically feeding round the clock because she’s clearly hungry) and that’s with trying all the tricks - quiet room, skin to skin, massage, breathing etc. I feel like I’ve tried everything. Realistically my stress levels aren’t going to disappear anytime soon, so in order to carry on BF’ing I need to find a way to do this along side it.

Any weird and wonderful tricks/tips to induce a flood of oxytocin to cause a let down? I can’t really be holding hot flannels on my boobs round the clock either - I can’t leave the house atm! :( help!

I’m so sorry that you are experiencing such severe stress. I’m not sure that you need to have a let down at every feed though? I can remember not having one everytime.

Would it help to talk to a BFC? They will be able to tell you if one is necessary and how to try and get more let downs if you both think that they are needed.
