Does anybody know the conversion of formula scoops from ml to oz?

Hi all,

This might seem like a really silly question but numbers aren't my strong point and I'm getting confused. I've just purchased the Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine which dispenses water in oz. I've been used to preparing bottles with the kettle and the back of the formula tin is measure in scoops per ml of water. Does anybody know of a conversion chart or similar please? Don't know if it'll help, but my little one is on Kendamil where he generally has a 180ml bottle which has 6 scoops of formula in. The closest equivalent to this on the machine is 6oz which is around 170ml, so I'm unsure how many scoops this now means the bottle needs as surely it'll be too much formula to water ratio?

Hope that makes sense!

Which model prep machine do you have? On the digital ones, you can change the settings to show ml if you prefer that to oz? Otherwise treat it as 30ml = 1oz.

I prefer to work in ounces for formula feeds and it is one level scoop of formula powder to one fluid ounce of water. For the best advice, follow the instructions on the back of the formula pack.

I think it's the newest model, the one that's got a jug at the back. The digital panel only has the numbers in oz to select for a bottle. Thanks though, think I was just overthinking the small difference when you convert to oz and worried that might be too much formula for the water.

The tin advises of scoops per ml but all of our bottles have ml and oz to measure out

A work around is to weight the bottle empty tare the scales then fill with the ml of water. Mark with a permanent marker. Empty water then run the machine with oz I til you get to the line. You'd only need to do this once as you count the oz and will know how many.
