Sling for baby who wants to be held and fed all the time?

Ds is 5 days and is now feeding wonderfully However, he would quite happily feed all the time, and takes a ling time to settle if he is put down. I have a babybjorn active but it is not hugely comfortable and he feels a bit precarious in it if I have to lean down. I would quite happily sit with him all day but with a young dd too I want to be able to play with her as well. I have een a Close carrietr in a shop in town. Are thy any good? I need something that is easy to use as there is noone to help me put it on, and comfortable enough to wear for long stretches at a time, as well as hopefully being able to breastfeed while wearing it. Don't want a lot, do I?!

I used to bf dd in a ring-sling. I can't remember the make, but I suppose any of that sort would do. I had to use the arm on the feeding side to support her, but my other arm was free and of course I did't have to take any weight on my arms.

BTW - congratulations

hello, my ds2 didn't want to be put down or stop feeding for 3 months, i can sympathise! I found a maya ring sling good, fed walking round park, london zoo, theoretically you can do it hands free but i tended to use 1 arm to support like candles. could also play with ds1 (21 month age gap) and occas even do his nappy with babe in sling.

now i have a pouch sling and that is good too, but you need to get the size right as it is not adjustable. that put me off at first, hence ring sling, but i guessed the size and it is fine.

i have seen someone with the tricotti sling and that looks great as the weight is on both shoulders, good when they get bigger.

it won't last forever, enjoy the cuddles and congrats on your baby

i have bfed using a ring sling and a closer sling, they were both quite good, tho ds4 got too long for the close sling quite quickly, he is a bit boy tho, almost 11lb at birth and very long.

i used the ring sling LOADS with ds3, it was a life saver for the first 9mths ish and he wanted to be held and feed all the time.

i got mine from marsupialmothers.co.uk, it was only about £20

I have fed in a kari-me, but found it very difficult to get the hang of.

I recently bought a huggababy and it is much much easier to feed in. DS likes to feed to sleep and its really easy to get him into, feed him, then detach him when he's asleep and ease him up into an upright position which is much easier to do stuff in.

Congrats on your new baby I never got on with a ringsling, but wraps are my friend

Have you come across slingmeet? You might be able to meet up with a group of baby-wearing women near you that would help you to try different types of slings out before you buy and give you some support while you get used to them...

Or you could get some second hand while you experiment (rumplebums forum and UKbabywearingSWAP mail group are both good for 2nd hand slings).

Hope you find something that works for you and your LO
