Feeding troubles with 3 month old

My little girl has just turned 15 weeks old and for most part of her life she has been a nightmare to feed. Long story short she’s queried to have a cows milk protein allergy so we’ve put her on aptamil Pepti 1 as advised by the doctor until we had our dietician appointment. Shes always been so unsettled, cried after every feed, had bad constipation, small rashes on her cheeks so that’s why we was referred. She’s been on aptamil pepti 1 for over a month now and id like to say its helped as she has been a little more settled but she still is constipated and she is very fussy during feeds. She’s gips a lot, pushes the bottle out, gulps, stops every few seconds and just doesn’t seem to feed well at all. She’s also only drinking small amounts each feed and she’s below the 2nd centile for her weight which is ever so slightly starting to tail off. She has also had a tongue tie which we paid privately to have cut 3 days ago, I did think this would help her but I don’t think it has. On top of all this she always sounds so congested and as though she can’t breathe through her nose. As I’m writing this now her dad is trying to feed her and she’s just fussing with it but crying at the same time, she’s only had 30ml so far which is not enough for her age.

any ideas what could be up with my little girl? I’m one worried mum.

Oh bless her, have you had her assessed for tongue tie by a lactation consultant? Don't go by what NHS midwives say, they're aren't trained in it, but if baby has tongue tie she may be taking in air, also it may be her palette (which can also be assessed by a lactation consultant) as I think a high palette can be paired with more congestion.

Other than that have you tried different bottles/ feeding positions? More upright can help if congested x

Are you getting any ongoing support for getting her to feed after the TT was snipped?

Pepti 1 is a hydrolysed formula and she may need a completely DF formula.

I would have a read of this article from Allergy UK then speak to your GP about getting a DF formula prescribed.

Cow’s Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system in which proteins in a food are recognised as a potential threat.

You need to clear her airways. We found dust in the nursery was blocking my son up. We put an HEPA purifier in there and it made an immediate difference
