Aptamil advanced 1 & Aptamil 1

Hi

We currently use Aptamil 1 for our 3 month old however we have just tried the Aptamil advanced ready to feed bottles when we go on days out. Baby's bowel movements seem to have slowed down and I'm not sure if this is due to us switching back and forth from Aptamil 1 and Aptamil advanced. Had anyone else had any experience with this?

Thanks

It won't be because the new formula is a "bad" formula, it will be because your baby is getting used to a new diet. If you can, stick to the same formula. If they don't do the ready to feed in the one you want, doing formula on the go really isn't that bad! If you really want to give her those ready to feed ones, give her that formula at home too. Basically just stick with one!

Tiny tummies just really love consistency. If your baby is settled on Aptamil 1, I'd be tempted to just take a pre-measured powder dispenser and a flask of hot water when you're out. It's less of a faff than it sounds once you've done it a few times.
That said, I do use ready-to-feed bottles for days out. As an expat, I get Kendamil Classic Ready-to-Feed Infant Milk 250 ml 6s from McGrocer because it saves mixing on the go. The key, though, is that I stick to the same Kendamil brand at home, so there's no back and forth. If you really want the convenience, maybe try switching fully to the advanced for a bit so it's the only thing his system is getting. Otherwise, just do a little Tupperware of powder. You'll find your rhythm.
