If I was to express milk, say when LO was 4 weeks and then used it when she was 4 months is there much difference in the milk and the nutrition... is the makeup of the milk at 4 weeks very different from the stuff that she may need at 4 months?

Hi BabyOcho, im sure that you can only freeze breast milk for 1 month. Unless things have changes in the last 2 years as this is what i was told when i was BF. I would speak to your health visitor first.

I didnt post very well... does the chemical make-up of breast milk change from week 4 to week 18 to week 40?
Is the stuff that I am producing now different from the stuff that I will be producing in August?? And will it be good enough?

(eg. colostrum was good for early days, but baby needs more now)

I got the info on the length of time on how long in a freezer: www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html

babyOcho, the composition will change but not so much that the milk shouldn't be used.
Lully, you can definitely freeze for longer than that! Check out kellymom 3-6 months in a fridge-freezer and 6-12 months in a separate deep-freeze.
