I think I know the answer but just checking....

DD2 4 weeks old, been unsettled and windy/explosive poos.

I have just cooked turkey mince dinner that includes in the recipe....
onions, small amount of chilli powder, pineapple, red pepper, coriander...

Is this just crazy to eat so many strong flavours? Will I make DD2 even more windy???

I ate all sorts and it never bothered either kids - loads of curries usually very hot

The only thing my DD reacted to in my diet was cabbage or brussel sprouts. I have eaten hot curries and chillis to no effect, but a few brussels in some soup and she was windy and cranky all day with nasty smelly farts and poos.

All seems fine.

Only time my dd was sick was when I ate some stuffed chicken not realising it was stuffed with some blue cheese (thanks Dad).

I've eaten strong curries with both of my breastfed babies, never made a difference.
The main culprit with effecting babies through breastmilk is dairy(that's only with an intolerance), most other things don't really make any difference.

Will it make you windy? IME, the only things that have affected my DCs have been those that have also affected me, So personally I'd be fine with your planned dinner (but would avoid, from painful experience, anything very beany or heavy on fenugreek).

I never changed my diet, I just assumed his windiness was his innards rather than anything I ate! My breastmilk used to smell a bit garlicky!

I never changes my diet either.

well the little madam seems to cry whatever so think I'll just eat it anyway.

DS1 only reacted to me eating cabbage. DS2 has reacted to thai green curry (not hot but very very limey), lentil dhal (unsurprisingly).

I've found the best and quikest cure if they get wind from what you've eaten is give them fennel tea (tepid or cold). It's instant - as they drink it you can hear and feel the bubbles burst and they relax in your arms! It's amazing, and can't believe I never knew about this with DS1. Would have saved so much hassle...
