i thought it was, as long as its not warmed up, and you put it in a clean bottle with a clean teat, the milk is only out of the fridge 10 mins max

I would think that would be fine, I think the problem is when its been heated up like you said?

Reuse after how long?

There's a chance it'll be mixed with saliva, won't it?

I wouldn't. I was told about saliva mixing in.

Next time just pour in half to start with!

questionmaster · 28/05/2008 15:17

till the next time she wants some a few hours, i don't think saliva gets in there

its still chilledwhen it goes back in the fridge

do you mean the stuff in the carton - or the bottle?
you can put the carton back in the fridge if baby hasn't touched it - in other words you've just poured stuff from it into bottle. otherwise - no.

WigWamBam · 28/05/2008 15:20

The problem is the bacteria introduced when the baby feeds, not the fact it's been warmed up or left out of the fridge. It's not advisable to reuse any milk once the baby has taken some.

yes, of course you can - i assume from your OP you're decanting into a different bottle and reheating, right?

once used, discard within 1 hour. unused, in the fridge for up to 24 hours is ok
