when do you stop sterilising bottles for a baby?

at one year of age do you still sterilise bottles for milk?

no idea ...little one now 10 months old

ah true . I'd still boil the water for formula personally but can't explain my logic ! Tapwater as a dirnk is fine.

As I understand it formula powder is not sterile and can (rarely) contain some nasty bacteria. So it is advised to make feeds with water over 70 degrees to kill any bacteria. However, the bottles don't have to be sterilised, just cleaned thoroughly with hot water/dishwasher. If you're giving water to drink, straight from the tap is fine for over 6 months.
