Hi all!

my 9 week baby has been suffering with reflux…GP prescribed gaviscon which made his really constipated so the health visitor suggested trying anti reflux milk. He’s been on anti reflux milk (cow and gate) since Wednesday, however the poor little thing has had diarrhoea since then…I’ve read threads where people have had similar problems however haven’t said if this is a symptom which will eventually go?

its such a shame as the milk is really helping his reflux but I’m so worried he is going to get dehydrated..anyone with experience of this??

thank you :)

Hi there!
We had a very similar situation—our baby was prescribed Gaviscon, which caused horrible constipation, and switching to Cow & Gate anti-reflux milk helped the reflux but triggered diarrhea. It’s such a tough balance, and I totally feel your worry.

We started looking into gut health support and came across Symprove, which had amazing reviews. My partner is Asian and has always been lactose intolerant—even bubble tea or milk would leave her with cramps, needing the loo, or diarrhea. But from lactose intolerant to bubble tea lover—how Symprove fixed my gut is honestly not an exaggeration. Within 2 months, she could drink dairy with no issues.

That got us thinking: why Symprove might be the missing link in infant reflux recovery—and while we haven’t used it on our baby (yet), I’ve seen threads where parents say it helped normalize digestion when anti-reflux formulas disrupted things.

We tried everything for baby reflux—until we found this gut solution for ourselves, and it made us re-evaluate how much gut bacteria plays into how the body tolerates formula. It's worth looking into (with your GP’s guidance, of course).

And I saw someone post, "from constipation to diarrhea—how we finally got our baby’s gut right," and they mentioned combining probiotics with paced feeding and a gradual shift in formula, which worked for them.

Hope that helps even a little—it’s a tricky journey, but there are options that work beyond just switching formulas!

This refer will give you 50% off for upto 3 months, which should be long enough to see results.
