My 4 month old has been extremely sicky since she was born, we tried numerous formulas before moving onto Aptimal anti reflux. This worked for about few days and she’s now back vomiting the formula back up (she has been on this for around 3/4 weeks now)

She is always becoming very difficult to settle, barely napping and constantly wanting held and if I put her down she will wriggle, kick and whine the entire time.

Shes also went from sleeping through the night to now waking up several times, I’m not sure why there has been such a change in her as she was such a happy content little baby before.

I’m now wondering if she’s allergic to the cows milk? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same or has any tips as to how to settle her?

Thanks in advance!

Both mine had a dairy allergy, they had really bad runny nappies, around 12 a day, DD2 had bad baby acne which just wasn't going, she was very unsettled and cried a lot and scrunched up a lot in what looked like discomfort. DD1 had bad eczema, I was breastfeeding and with DD2 I cut out dairy and soya from my diet and within 1 week she was a different baby. We had to continue with gaviscon, but otherwise she was more settled. They were also quite congested.

Worth an appointment with your doctor if you are not happy, they can always trial a hydrolysed formula or give medicine for reflux.

Also there is quite a crap sleep regression at 4 months.

I've had two with cmpa. One had some rashes but mostly was just a Velcro baby who screamed and screamed for hours at night. The other was happy as Larry but had nappy with a lot of blood in it and started to develop very persistent eczema.

There are no tests for non-ige dairy allergy. You just have to eliminate it, see if symptoms stop, then challenge it with a short milk exposure and see if symptoms return. I'd see gp see if you can get a dairy free formula (hydrolysed still have dairy in)

Thank you both! I have the aptimal lacto free milk coming tomorrow with our food shop to start trialing that and will give the GP a call first thing on Monday ❤️

I actually don’t mind changing her (and me😂) constantly but the idea of her being is pain is so upsetting. Glad you both got your little ones all sorted! Xx
