What age do you start giving baby fritters?

I'm a FTM and am going to start baby led weaning soon. I was wondering what age can I start cooking fritters for her. Is it safe to give while she's 6 months or should I wait?

I don't really know what they are? If it's fried bread type stuff I'm sure it's not harmful, but not especially nutritious.

Depends what you mean by fritters, my baby is 8 months and we have done BLW from the start, I make veg fritters for her but for the first couple of weeks I did just one food at a time so individual veggies etc.

Also not sure what you mean by fritters, but I mix all sorts of things into "croquettes". A base mixture of mashed potato, egg, breadcrumbs/flour, then add in any veggies, protein, spices. Bung in the oven for 20 min or so.

I would start introducing foods in their pure state individually at the start. See the Solid Starts website for age appropriate serving suggestions. Especially with allergens, such as egg, it's important to introduce them individually and early in the day so you can watch for an allergy.

I also recommend the book "How to Wean Your Baby" by Charlotte Stirling-Reed. Good recipes, a few weeks of "meal" plans to get you started, tips and trouble-shooting...

I would not give fried food to an infant, especially deep fried stuff.

Stir-fries, such as chicken or fish with lots of vegetables, are fine.

Fritters ate perfectly fine at 6 months.

Lots of babies eat family food right from 6 months and this does include eggs and fried foods.

As soon as you want to. DC1 used to have loads of sweetcorn and pepper fritters. There was a nice cafe we were at once a week every week where we always shared them. Easy to pick up, lots of veg and egg. Great early good.
