Prep machine - bubbles?

I have recently invested in a prep machine.
I am sure it’s causing more colicky symptoms.
before I bought this I used a temperature control kettle and made 4 bottles in advance - day time and night time and placed in fridge and used within 12 hours.
I bought a prep machine and followed the instructions - but I saw loads of bubbles in the bottle.

I tried swirling the bottle instead but there were lumps in the bottle after a feed - so doesn’t seem to mix it properly.

Any tips?
Do I go back to my previous method? Formula pitcher? Or is there a way round this?

Shes become so gassy!

Not sure if it's directly causing the issues, but generally the prep machines aren't recommended as they don't get hot enough to kill any bacteria in the powder. The powder needs to get to 70°C to be safe and most machines don't do that. Also filters need to be well maintained (so second hand ones are particularly risky).

Personally I'd go back to doing it the way you were before.

Soooo We have a nubby rapid cool (bought 2 with a flask in a pack) and I replicate the prep machine!! That way it doesn’t need sterilising after every use, as it’s just boiling water going in. I do sterilise it every day, I also fill up a thermos flask with boiling water (then you don’t have to constantly boil the kettle with 1L of water per bottle,as they should ideally be made fresh). When I’m running out the door I can just shove it in the changing bag, along with rapid cool, formula and bottles😁

I bought a formula pitcher.
i make enough feeds for 12 hours
I don’t use fresh water everytime though? I just reboil the kettle?
However definately less gassy!! So the prep machine bubbles have definitely contributed to an increased of gas.

unfortunately the NHS guidelines are to use fresh water each time

Something to do with a sodium build up each time it’s boiled I think

Yes the Perfect Prep is known for tiny bubbles that can cause gas and discomfort. It doesn't affect all babies but it sounds like it was affecting yours Flowers
