Trying to find a chart with the amount per day by day, not just week and month. My 8 day old is breast fed but exclusively bottle fed with formula top ups so can see amounts. Can’t find out something to tell me by day or at least by week. The information is there but sleep brain can’t find it!

I was told by a lactation consultant roughly 150ml x kg of weight total in a day. So divide the total by number of feeds you offer in a day to get a rough guide per feed. Some babies have more, some have less but that was their rough guide.

But I believe now the preference is to go by wet and dirty nappies plus weight gain - at least 6 heavy wet nappies and 1-2 poos every day until 8weeks. After that, babies can go a bit longer inbetween poos but under 8weeks and it can be a sign that they are not getting enough milk. Lots of good info here: https://www.nhs.uk/start-for-life/baby/feeding-your-baby/breastfeeding/ There's also a mixed feeding page.

I've just looked back at my app and at 8days old, DD2 was having top ups of around 30ml. Which would fit with what the link from @AllYearsAround's post says, as she would have been getting the difference directly from the breast.

If you find it helps you to measure like this- then go for it. Otherwise, go by how the baby is-peeing and pooing, gaining-or at least not losing-weight are the things to look for. You can hope for some sleep, and reasonable contentment, but neither of these are guaranteed!

Harder to just go with the flow if exclusively expressing as you are in control of the amounts not the baby - and you don't want to risk wasting breast milk. I can see why it is more important for the OP to have measurements to work with.
