What should it feel like when latch is correct?

Been EBF my 10 week old who was recently diagnosed with a tongue tie. He had it divided yesterday and I noticed now that when he’s latched on it feels stronger and almost like a tingling/pins and needles feeling as he sucks if that makes sense?

Is this a sign of a stronger suction? Has anyone experienced this?

It will take a 10 week old a couple of weeks to learn how feed correctly and you two together to practise the new tweaked positions etc. So don't panic if feeding isn't really comfortable yet.

What you felt yesterday could be the start of vasospasm, read about it on Kelly Mom.

If you can go to in person support groups where people can keep adjusting your latch that will really help. And doing the tongue tie release exercises you should have been given.

The pins and needles you have described is your let down reflex it can feel quite strong at first, it does ease off after a while, does it stop after a minute or 2 or continue through the feed? If you are getting pain throughout a feed then that would be a latch issue
