Have not seen it, BUT I am suspicious of any advertising (for follow on milk e.g.) that mentions the brand. Aptamil is the same brand name for all the milks, right from birth onwards.

yogabird · 25/04/2008 21:12

erm... what advert?

pippylongstockings · 25/04/2008 21:16

I just saw it too and felt very odd about it... I am still b/f my ds2 at 16 months so felt it was odd that they implied b/f was just for little babies..... but on the other hand they do at least conceed that b/f is best!

I am never going to be happy with formula advert really - other countries who don't have them have a much higher b/f rate. i really dislike the night-time milk advert in th mags at the mo that implies it will fill your baby up therefor it will sleep through the night - no bother!

Flame - there's another 'Wool Wrap' question waiting for you on the nappy topic...hurry over there coz I want to know the answer

Flame · 25/04/2008 21:32

Sorry - new ad... woman breastfeeding a young baby, then holding an older one saying about "should you choose to stop b/f"

Off to talk wool.....

pippy come on over to my extended bf thread.

StealthPolarBear · 25/04/2008 22:51

I saw this - the main gripe I had with it "time passes so quickly and if you'd like to move on from breastfeeding"
But I suppose what else are they going to say?
Can I just ask, lots of pictures I've seen of bf (including that ad) show the woman with the fingers of the other hand on the top of her breast (sometimes in a scissor shape). What is that for and am I doing something wrong??

StealthPolarBear · 25/04/2008 22:53

this was the only picture I can find - something like this

Flame · 25/04/2008 22:57

so you can chop off their mouth if they clamp too tight
