CMPA help

Does quantity of dairy make a different with CMPA?

I have 9 week old, breastfed. When he was around 6 weeks, his reflux and fussiness got worse and worse, massive spit ups/vomiting which upset him, extremely painful wind, fussy during feeds, mucus in stool. I went dairy free and he settled a bit within 2 days. Reflux still a big issue but wind problem went away completely and no more big spit ups, at all. I then had some awful days where I wasn't thinking straight and accidentally had butter and cheese over a few days (i wasn't cooking and I didn't check). He was totally fine.

So then I thought maybe dairy was never an issue and maybe the wind/sickness was just a phase. So next day I had a massive bowl of porridge (with cow's milk) and a decaf latte. By the evening he was throwing up lots, clearly in pain. I cut out dairy again and he settled within about 2 days. I'm never having a latte ever again.

Is this CMPA? We have a dr appointment on Monday.

Yes! It can also take 3 days from eating a food to see a reaction if they have delayed allergies rather than immediate. My daughter typically reacts after 36h and even when she has reacted quickly within an hour symptoms have peaked between 24 and 48h.

Yes and if he is still showing signs when you’re dairy free then it might be worth trying cutting soya out to as the protein is very similar.

@Superscientist oooh thank you! I will never be able to look at a latte the same again. So silly of me after all that effort to be dairy free for a couple of weeks 🤪 dairy seems to be in everything though and I've never dealt with an allergy before
