How the hell did that happen! Had a nightmare start (mastitis, hole in nipple etc) and so vowed to get to 12 weeks and stop!!! STILL here. Tried to stop at around 1 yr but LO not having any of it and she still has 3 feeds a day now. Just decided to go with the flow as it were......Sheesh - just sharing my disbelief.

I know, where did 2 years go ? My DS is 2 in 3 weeks, but down to just a morning feed now.

policywonk · 24/04/2008 21:02

Ah I know that feeling. I told myself I'd get to three months and then stop 'cos my nipples were so sore - that was five-and-a-half years ago. Get out now while you still can!

(It's a different child now though.)

I'm only at 14 and a hapf months but I am quite surprised too

gecko still feeds alot at night which I am not happy about) and a good few times in the day too. I had to stop feeding dd1 when she was 14 months old as I had severe pnd and needed to take ad's (I know now that I didn't have to stop feeding her to take ad's)

and dd2 just went off the breast in favour of her thumb at 9 months

so gecko is the child I have managed to feed the longest

I want to go with the flow, dh is supportive and my friends are too so that makes it all the nicer

Lol, I never thought I'd manage to get to 6 months with our 1000s of problems, now dd is nearly 3.....

lyndyloo · 24/04/2008 21:07

Nearly 3???? Oh no! Mind you my LO loves it so much can't see when she'll stop! She'll be at school at this rate - in the 6th form probably!!!!

"Mummy's milk" still in great demand at 2.5, although just about getting ds to understand that we only do this at home (or at his g'parents) - mainly because I can't be bothered to justify to onlookers but also because of the hassle of having to wear suitable clothes, do it discretely etc.

Wouldn't mind a full night's sleep though.

Actually, after a bit of a trying day of the usual toddler ups and downs, I do find it a nice way to spend quality time (pardon the cliche). They look so cute feeding and it's guaranteed appreciation!
