Bfing: what happens at a 1 yr old?

I know there is not some magic switch at a year, but what I am wondering is what happens when you want to leave the baby after a year. Do they still rely on the BM in he same way, e.g. if I went away over night would I have to leave EBM.

I express religiously, I always have, every morning, and I have recently gone back to work and am expressing there twice a day. Just wondering if I can stop expressing so much so, but still be able to go out occasionally? Will cow's milk be a sufficient replacement?

your baby will be absolutely fine with cows milk or water if you were out yes

Cows milk is fine, some people keep up expressing but that is their personal choice (I never got really into it in the first place). I started offering DS cows milk from 1 yr but it wasn't until 15 months or so that he would really take a reasonable amount of it.

When DS was that age I would go out for the evening and not leave any milk as he would settle without a feed if he woke in the evening.

my DD is 16 months and has never drunk formula or cows milk. she just wont take it. ive tried mixing it with anything and everything but to no avail. however, she also doesnt really like BM from a bottle - just lets it dribble out of her mouth. as such, if i am away (i work full time) she has water or juice and gets her calcium from fromage frais/yoghurt til im back. im desparate to drop the feeding now but i know it will upset her so much. im being soft about it i realise!
