Milk supply suddenly dropping

I wondered if anyone has any advice or experience, I exclusively pump and bottle feed my 4 month old due to him having a few issues when born and not being able to breastfeed.

I pump every 2/3 hours in the day and every 4/5 hours at night depending on babies sleep usually getting 160 ml each time,

ive had mastitis and wasn’t very well last week but it feels literally over night that I’m hardly getting anything now when I pump and I’ve had to top up with formula, I’m feeling better and the mastitis has cleared but still have hardly any milk. I’ve not had the best appetite when feeling unwell but have tried to increase calories but still no more milk,

has anybody had this before is there anyway I can increase my supply and will it come back I’m assuming it’s due to illness but could be wrong and worried it’s permanently reduced/stopping

thanks

It's happened to me with mastitis and as long as you continue to pump your supply will settle again. Four months is a common stage of a big development leap so you may need to add an extra night time pump too to meet the temp increase in demand.

That sounds miserable. Mastitis makes you properly ill and then feeding issues are stressful.
Your supply should come back as you recover fully.
You could try a couple of quiet days where you snuggle with baby as much as possible (ideally with your top off trying to get some skin to skin and nipple contact). Can someone take all your other responsibilities off you for those days?
Drink plenty of fluids.
Try not to stress. Very likely your supply will come back. But if it doesn’t, then that is ok too. You have worked hard feeding your baby so far. Pumping and bottle feeding is a time consuming occupation. You are allowed to stop now if that is what happens. You are an amazing mother either way 😁.
