LO has bouts of really squirming, red in the face, bringing knees up, sticking tongue out and grunting trying to fart. Once he has passed wind, he becomes peaceful and falls back to sleep immediately as if it wasnt a problem at all! Poor wee thing.

Any advice on this? He has been on Infacol for a week now which has helped him bring up wind after a feed but the farting issue really seems to be causing him a lot of pain.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I havent successfully found answers for trapped wind in the bottom area...

Thanks

Have you tried baby massage?

i used to lie ds on his back and sort of "bicycle" his legs. used to help him fart a bit. or failing that, keep him upright and bounce him up and down gently. if he's prone to chucking up his milk that might not be the best idea!!

Yes, the leg-cycle works a treat!

Sounds totally normal to me - if he's not distressed (and he doesn't sound it) - don't worry about it

Mine did this too... only piece of advice have, is that if they're doing it on the changing table with their nappy off, and they haven't done a poo in a while - stand well back and cover all surfaces with plastic. Mine managed to projectile poo right out of the door or our nursery...

I will try gentle massage next time he starts squirming but he's defo no problem pooing!!!! He just has a struggle getting a "windy pop" out

Nice to hear its normal as long as he not distressed. He just gets a bit agitated but doesnt cry or scream at all.

Thanks very much.
